Hunter’s Story

Hi, I’m Hunter.

I’ve loved chinchillas ever since I woke up Christmas morning when I was five-years-old and met my little friend. His name was Mr. Dinkles, named after the little pet in the Trolls movie. He’s been my only chinchilla, he made me love these animals more than I thought I could care for such a small little creature. He passed away last year and when I see park squirrels, I think of him.

As I got older, I learned that wild chinchillas are endangered and there are very few of them are left in the Andes Mountains. A lot of people don’t even realize they still exist in the wild.

That’s why I created SaveChinchillas.com — to help more people learn about chinchillas and to support the scientists and conservation teams working to protect them.
